晴れた日に空を見上げるとき、夜空に浮かぶ月を眺めるとき。
離れて暮らすひととも空で繋がっていると思えることで、心穏やかにそして元気になれるように思います。
科学と仏教、人類の叡智の集積である両者の融合が、宇宙に浮かぶお寺を創り出そうとしています。
宇宙のお寺は人と人との絆を強くする手助けをし、よりよい世の中への発展を見守る役目を果たすでしょう。
少し先の未来、宇宙との繋がりがより身近なものになること、それらをかたちにすることへの関わりを嬉しく思い、わくわくしながらお手伝いしています。

Ik woon in België, en werk met ICT en IoT. Het is nodig dat mensen zich meer verbonden voelen, omdat de maatschappij steeds meer individualistisch wordt, met te weinig aandacht voor anderen, en te veel aandacht voor ‘ik’. Ons doel hoort niet bij ‘mezelf’ te liggen, maar bij de anderen.
Het universele karakter van het Internet spreekt me ook sterk aan, omdat het technische mogelijkheden biedt tot verbinding. Hiermee kan technologie het individu ondersteunen in de reis die ieder van ons maakt. Tijdens deze ontdekking kunnen we leren en groeien. Het is echter ook belangrijk, bij het gebruik van deze technologie, om wederzijds respect, en respect voor waarheid, waardigheid en onze wereld te cultiveren.
Dit project lag me van bij de eerste kennismaking nauw aan het hart, omdat het ons de mogelijkheid biedt ons symbolisch te verbinden met een groter geheel, en de afstanden te overbruggen die tussen ons bestaan, -of we mekaar nu kunnen zien of dat we ons aan de andere zijde van de aarde bevinden-.

I live in Belgium and work with ICT and IoT. People need to feel more connected, as society is becoming more and more individualistic, with too little attention to others, and too much attention to "me". Our goal should not be with "myself", but with others.
The universal nature of the Internet also appeals to me, because it offers technical possibilities for connection. This allows technology to support the individual in the journey each of us takes. During this discovery we can learn and grow. However, it is also important, when using this technology, to cultivate mutual respect and respect for truth, dignity and our world.
This project was close to my heart from the very first encounter, because it offers us the possibility to connect ourselves symbolically with a greater whole, and to bridge the distances that exist between us, whether we can see each other or whether we are on the other side of the earth.

一个法语专业的中国人，成为日本寺庙的志愿者，缘分就是这么不可思议。
素有“小联合国”之称的北京语言文化大学让我第一次接触到了来自各大洲的外国朋友，也给了我飞向远方的翅膀。
语言不仅是工具，更是连接彼此的桥梁。地球另一边的非洲，无论是热心学习汉语的当地雇员，还是港口搬运大袋可可豆在烈日下脱水晕倒的精瘦工人，抑或每天虔诚的祈祷礼拜，都令我难以忘怀。
信仰伴随着人类社会的发展而生，成为人们的精神寄托与力量。
佛教自盛唐时期从印度传来，后有鉴真东渡、弘法大师空海远游中国，而渐兴于日本。
我曾到高野山体验过寺院的生活，吃斋饭，住宿坊，踏访熊野古道，探索奧之院的秘境。UNESCO认定的世界遗产，真言宗的总本山，传说中的日本三大灵场之一，魅力非凡。
京都的美，在于寺社。知名度较高的伏见稻荷、琉璃光院自有其独特之处，而到鞍马寺找寻天狗的踪迹亦是一番乐趣。
随着全球化和科技的发展，日本的一些比较前卫的僧人诵读《般若心经》甚至举办法事都带上了cyberpunk味儿，于是在外太空建立寺院、通过电波接收心愿数据保留在存储空间里、最后随着卫星一起在穿过大气层时化作宇宙的一部分，如此脑洞大开的事儿，我怎么能不来见证一下呢？
能想出这么酷的点子，不愧是醍醐寺，下次旅行一定去拜一拜，让我也醍醐灌顶一下吧。

Establishing A Meaningful Connection
Back in the time when I was a 9-year old kid, I had to visit a Buddha Hall every month, to make prayers and send donations on behalf of my grandmother, as she was not able to walk such a long way from our home to the Buddha Hall. These are my first experiences with temples and payers.
Growing up, I recognised It is essential for us to pursue spirituality and have the peace of mind, especially in this world full of chaos. Inside the temples, I can always feel calm and peaceful. The special moments of connections could take place, with self-reflection and the expressions of our hopes and wishes.
Outside the temple, in this world we are living, what the connections we are making everyday? How much of it is actually messing up with our mind? Are we somehow blinded by the sensations and could not find a way out? These are recurring questions in my head. Maybe It is important for us to remind ourselves, that we should go back to the roots, and establish simple yet impactful connections - Not only to ourselves, but all living creatures.
The Gounji project is extending dimensions of spiritual connection. Such generous act can allow more people to establish meaningful connections, prayers in the temple will no longer be bound by time and space, and I am sure my grandmother would love this idea, so as many other believers. The symbolic meaning of hope and wishes can be transformed through technologies, and this is why I felt so glad to be part of the team.

That which propels me to volunteer for this cause relates to the universality of its meanings.
Vairocana (Dainichi Nyorai), the celestial Buddha, denotes primordial cognition of reality’s expanse: What can be more relevant to contextualize a Shingon Buddhist temple upon a boundless and immeasurable space?
This project, on another facet, embodies the magnificent magnitude exhibited in the Womb World Mandala (Taizōkai Mandara), where the cosmic centrality of Vairocana, centred in and from its Hall of the Central Dais 8 Petals, fans out to all sentient beings on a cosmologically epic scale.
On a side note, such kaleidoscope, almost karmically, echoes my undergraduate studies in the School of English, The University of Hong Kong, which is, in essence, a transdisciplinary studies based in English.
